What Cabanga TV is

The streaming service for African business

Cabanga TV is a free streaming service for African business and economics. It gathers the best public business programming on the continent - news, documentaries, interviews, conference sessions, founder stories - and organises it the way a streaming service should: 9 Business Channels, 36 Business Desks, a country index and a search across the whole library.

It is built by business journalists. Every programme is chosen, filed and described by the same editorial architecture that runs the twelve Cabanga magazine editions, and every programme credits the channel that made it.

The curation wall: a curator moves programme cards across the board of thumbnails, choosing what goes on which channel, with a colleague logging it at the desk.

How a programme gets on air

Five steps from source to screen

01Find

The team sources programmes desk by desk from broadcasters, institutions, business schools, conferences and African companies across the twelve edition markets.

02Verify

Every programme is read from its public page: title, source, length and description - and it is only kept if its publisher allows it to play inside another site.

03File

Each programme goes to one channel and one desk by the beat that carries it, exactly as the editorial doctrine files articles, and is tagged to the market it serves.

04Describe

Every programme gets its own one-line description written for the business reader, and the original source is credited by name and linked.

05Publish

The programme goes live on its channel, its country page and in search - free to watch, with a route into the magazines and the platforms of the network.

The edit suite: an editor cuts the episode on two screens, the timeline laid out, a producer standing behind reviewing the cut.

Questions answered

About Cabanga TV

Is Cabanga TV free to watch?
Yes. Every programme on Cabanga TV is free to watch. There is no subscription and no sign-up.
Where do the programmes come from?
Most programmes are public videos published on YouTube by broadcasters, institutions, companies and creators - CNBC Africa, SABC News, CGTN Africa and many more - selected and filed by the Cabanga editorial team. The rest are Cabanga TV originals from the Cabanga YouTube channel. Every programme credits its source by name.
How is a programme chosen?
Each programme is checked against the Cabanga editorial architecture: it must be about the real African economy, it must help a reader make a decision, and it must play inside Cabanga TV. It is then filed to one channel and one desk by the beat that carries it.
Who owns Cabanga TV?
Cabanga TV is owned by Cabanga Africa (Pty) Ltd, Botswana, and accounted for as part of Cabanga Africa Group. It is run by the twelve Cabanga magazine editions.
Can my company have its own channel?
Yes. Contract video channels are the Cabanga TV service for companies and institutions - see Services.
